Smallholder farmers in northern Bangladesh are trapped in cycles of debt and poverty. h
Reliant on middlemen for inputs and sales, they lose up to 70% of their crop value and face steep loan interest rates, poor-quality supplies and little control over their livelihoods - made worse by frequent monsoon floods.

By promoting high-value crops and linking them to fairer markets, Folon helps farmers increase yields, earn more and build lasting resilience without middlemen.

We work with our local partners to identify farmers in vulnerable communities who would benefit most from support. Selection criteria include economic need, commitment to sustainable practices, and potential for long-term impact.

Farmers receive comprehensive training on modern agricultural techniques, including soil health management, pest control, and crop rotation strategies to maximize yields sustainably.

Ongoing advisory support helps farmers troubleshoot challenges, adapt to changing conditions, and continuously improve their practices for better outcomes.
